Our History

Afio Mai Aviation (AMA), proudly established in American Samoa in 1995, has been a cornerstone of aviation excellence for nearly three decades. From its inception, AMA has been dedicated to providing superior ground handling and aviation support services across the South Pacific region. In the same year of its founding, AMA was awarded a prestigious contract to manage Air Mobility Command (AMC) aircraft under the United States Air Force. This contract extended AMA’s operational reach to include American Samoa, Australia, New Zealand, Guam, and Japan, enabling the company to handle military aircraft from all branches of the United States Armed Forces, including the Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, and National Guard.

With over 20 years of unwavering service to military aviation, AMA has consistently delivered a comprehensive suite of ground handling services. These include ramp services, passenger assistance, cargo loading and unloading, communication and flight operations coordination, and representation and supervision for both national and foreign carriers. Our expertise spans five key operational areas, ensuring seamless support for military and civilian aircraft alike.

AMA has earned its reputation as a leader in aviation services throughout the South Pacific, handling more flights annually than any other airport in the region. Whether managing ramp operations or providing Ground Support Equipment (GSE) maintenance, AMA is fully equipped to execute operations that seamlessly integrate with our clients’ airline activities.

At AMA, our priority is ensuring that every aircraft, passenger, crew member, and cargo is managed with the highest level of professionalism and care. We offer an integrated range of top-tier passenger, ramp, and technical services on a global scale. Our highly skilled teams leverage advanced technologies to streamline operations and facilitate all required airport and aircraft documentation.

Our mission is centered on delivering consistent, reliable, and customer-focused operations. AMA’s policies and procedures are meticulously designed to meet the evolving needs of our airline partners, ensuring their success while maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

With a steadfast commitment to excellence, Afio Mai Aviation continues to set the benchmark for aviation support services in the South Pacific and beyond.
